Emma is a recently ordained United Church Minister. She studied Visual Arts at the University of Western Ontario and she completed her education for ministry at Emmanuel College in Toronto. She truly enjoys working in ministry with the church. In May 2018 she was ordained with London Conference into the United Church of Canada.
It is important for Emma to be part of Affirm United/S’Affirmer Ensemble an organization affiliated with the United Church of Canada that works for the full inclusion of people who identify as LGBTQ+ and Two Spirit persons. Emma enjoys being an alumni of the Student Christian Movement and she is grateful to be on the core organization team for Cahoots: Festival of Faith, Justice & DIY(Do It Yourself) which occurs every May.
Emma has a passion for music, social justice and meeting new people. It is her dream to live in a world where structures of oppression no longer exist. She strives to be genuine in her faith by offering a hopeful yet realistic understanding of religious past, present and future. She celebrates when friendships are formed between many faith communities.
In terms of fun, Emma spends much of her time singing, enjoying God’s creation, eating homemade food, and spending time with family and loved ones. While enjoying being active in the church on Sundays, Emma finds meaning and purpose in social justice, environmental protection and creative arts. Emma loves her Mom, family, friends, hiking, singing, swimming and nature and of course her dog Gwen. Woof!
